BVN RESTAURANT REVIEW - This is my second review of this restaurant. My first focused on the price and an unfortunate use of what appeared to be a dirty ice bucket. On my second visit, it was clear those two issues were addresses.
In my first review I said the burger was tasty and the unique cheese skirt was different and provided a nice cheese appetizer. Like the first time the burger on the second time was very good.
The buns and toppings were extremely fresh. I did not eat the lettuce because the grease from the cheese was all over it. But honestly I don't usually eat the lettuce in a burger anyway.
The first time my single burger, fries and soda was around $15. The second time they had combo meals and mine was less than ten bucks. Still a little high but manageable for a family of four. This place will be a monthly stop for the family.
The one thing I don't get is the waitress service. I don't think it is necessary. Just makes me have to tip for a burger joint meal. The owner could cut back payroll by skipping the waitress.
Also I don't know that the owner has gotten any real benefit from the Squeeze Inn name. There was a lot of hype from the original restaurant being on Diners, Driveins and Dives. I don't think that exposure has translated to success in Madera. Not knowing what the franchise agreement says, I can only assume the royalty payments is one of the reasons for the higher price.
Check out their new combos. They have one for a single burger and a double. You save a couple bucks and you get a great cheeseburger.
The only reasons for not giving five stars is the location and the price. Otherwise this is a place you need to check out for lunch. And they are now open after church on Sundays.
