EDITORIAL - Will Oliver has proven his leadership abilities during his first four years as a Councilmember. His track record speaks for itself with his championing of a solar street light project in his district, getting funding for new sidewalks near Washington School, and working hard to address the homeless issue by partnering with other community members for possible solutions.
An example is the Pomona Ranch Project. This project not only provided homeless families with transitional housing during the winter, but provided them the resources and support to become more self-sufficient.
Will Oliver has always put the needs of his community first by supporting the hiring of additional police personnel and the addition of a new fire station. Obviously he’s putting “safety” at the top of his list.
His youth and enthusiasm on the Council reminds me of when I first served on the Council many years ago. Many of those same issues are with us today and several of our councilmembers, including Will, are working well together to find some workable solutions.
As the first Latina Mayor in California, I understand what it’s like to go up against the status quo. Will does too and doesn’t hesitate to fight for his people and district. I highly support Will Oliver and hope that he can count on your vote!
