FRESNO - In the early morning hours on May 13 approximately 90 students from Olmos Elementary School gathered at the school campus. They were meeting at 3 a.m. to take a field trip of unimaginable proportions for some. These 6th grade students were taking their trip to Disneyland.
This adventure was a product of amazing hard work and fundraising efforts from the students, their parents, the staff at Olmos Elementary, members of the community, and members of the Fresno Police Department. This opportunity was provided to every 6th grade student at Olmos Elementary.
There were approximately 90 students, 10 teachers, and 11 police officers that attended the trip. For many of these students this was the first time they have been to Disneyland. With enthusiasm and excitement, these students boarded three buses and set out on their journey to Disneyland. They enjoyed the day taking in the experience of the “Happiest Place on Earth.”
