Sheriff’s Deputies along with CHP Officers including H40, established a perimeter around the location of the incident. Several other agencies were called to assist including Fresno Sheriff’s Office K9 units, Madera PD officers from their Special Investigations Unit, and the Madera County DA’s Office investigators.
Investigators found that the suspect, Albaro Molino, had encountered the other vehicle near Avenue 7 and Road 25 and had got into an argument with the male and female occupant over relationship issues. He then fired several rounds into the vehicle, striking the female passenger. The male driver accelerated to leave the scene, but Molino followed them and the vehicles struck each other several times.
As the vehicles continued down Avenue 7, Molino’s vehicle struck a PG&E power pole and then overturned. Molino was ejected and then fled the scene on foot. He was later apprehended approximately 1/2 of a mile away from the crash site and taken to the hospital for injuries he apparently received during the vehicle crash.
The female victim suffered one gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital in Fresno, she is expected to make a full recovery. Molino will be booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections for Attempted Murder.
