MADERA - This year, the second annual Beard and Mustache Whiskerino Contest will be held at the Madera District Fair, presented by Valley Children's Healthcare. This family-friendly event will kick off Saturday night, September 7th, on the fair’s Estrella Jalisco stage. Signups will start at 5:30 p.m., and the competition will begin at 6:00 p.m.
This event has no entry fee, and ribbons and Honest Amish product prizes will be awarded to 1st-3rd in each class with an overall ‘Best of Show ' for the event! The ‘Best of Show’ winner will be the fair’s VIP guest at the Tesla concert later that night. Contestants will compete in the following categories.

PARTIAL BEARDS, NATURAL: length & grooming
FREESTYLE: BEARD & PARTIAL Contests
WHISKERINA: LADIES CREATIVE CONTEST
KID WHISKERS: CREATIVE CONTEST ages 3-17
Ladies and kids are encouraged to compete with beards made from hair clippings to flowers and seashells. Whatever you can think of that will make a nice beard, your imagination is your only limitation.
All participants can enter classes within the categories that will be provided on-site, pending participation from 3 or more participants to create a class. The competition is open to any guest with a paid fair admission.
The Madera Fair kicks off on Thursday, September 5th, and runs until Sunday, September 8th. Advance tickets and carnival wristbands are available on the fair website (www.MaderaFair.com) at reduced prices until September 5th. Hours of free entertainment are scheduled for both the Headliners and the 20/30 Stage, plus all the fair acts playing multiple times a night throughout the grounds. So do not miss it!
