Nite Lite is BACK: Halloween Alternative at Madera Fair Grounds

MADERA - Nite Lite is back!  A safe and fun alternative to walking the streets “Trick or Treating”! Fifteen churches in the Madera Ministerial Association, four agencies in Madera and the Madera Police Department have partnered in conjunction with the  “Love Madera” to bring Nite Lite back to the Madera Fairgrounds.

The evening is not organized to celebrate Halloween, but rather to give the community a safe and inexpensive alternative to typical Halloween activities, as well as to celebrate the many blessings that the season of Harvest brings to our community.

Children play age appropriate games to win tickets and receive candy.  The tickets are used to purchase the children’s food throughout the night, as well as used to redeem for prizes.  Games are designed for those under Kindergarten as well as Kinder to 6th grade will be located in Hatfield Hall this year.

Between Women's World and Miracle Skate will be the "Tween Zone" for those "almost teenagers" who are looking for a little more challenge.  It will host a 57' Obstacle Course, Bungee Run and 5 N 1  Sports inflatable games, as well as free admission into Miracle Skate during Nite Lite's hours of 5 - 9 p.m.   Food will be available in Hatfield Hall, Women's World and Lumber Town.

Jr. High and High School students will have their own area which is being created and ran by youth pastors of the involved churches.  This "Youth Zone"  will include Jousting, 3 N 1 Sports, Bungie Hoops, Radical Rush, a Mechanical Bull, and "Wipe Out!"….and highlighted this year by a TacOps Lazer Tag Course!  Sorry parents, this is just for High school and Jr. Highers and will be housed outdoors in the large Ampi-theater area.

The Fairgrounds Main Stage will be hosting concerts throughout the evening.  Country artists - Wayne and Yesterday's Band who will also play later in Lumber Town.  Grupo Rio Jordan who play Conjunto Tejano Regional style hispanic music.  Higher Call - featuring long time Maderan Mark Woods.

Headlining the music on the evening will be the Joel Weldon Band.  Joel  His music has been featured on CMT, Promie Keepers, Harvest Crusads with Greg Laurie, Franklin Graham Crusades, Youth Life International, and churches have used his worship songs across the USA and around the world, including songs licensed to WORD Records, Marantha Music, Vineyard Music, Willow Creek Association, and many others.

When asked about his calling Joel says, “I love music, almost any kind of music, but anymore the most important things in this life are loving God and loving people, the two greatest commandments. Mostly I want to write about things that matter; things that leave a lasting mark on the landscape of souls”.
