Craig Nash (97) a Madera resident since 1941 passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019. Craig was born in Desha Arkansas to George Nash and Mamie Brock Nash. He settled in Madera and later served in World War II in the U.S. Army in the Asiatic –Pacific Theater where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart and one bronze star.
Following his military service he returned to Madera where he had various jobs eventually retiring from the Madera Irrigation District where he was employed for 17 years. Craig loved to Dance, he enjoyed the penny machine at Table Mountain Casino and his daily shopping trips with his wife Rose.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sons, Ronald Nash, Kenneth Nash, Danny Nash and Thomas Nash, as well as by several brothers and sisters.
Craig is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Rose Lomascola Nash, by his son David Nash and his wife Debbie and by step-children, Lori Frazier and her husband Steve, Katrina Steffensen and her husband Shawn all of Madera, Grace Lomascola of Hawaii, David Lomascola of Las Vegas, NV, Kenneth Lomascola of Chowchilla, Linda Lomascola of Reno, NV, and Michael Lomascola of Oregon. He is the grandfather of 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 1 PM at Arbor Vitae Cemetery in Madera.
