Sue Catherine Bare (90), a long time resident of Madera, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2020, following a period of declining health. Sue was born to Jim and Clara Tedford in Darnell Arkansas, later moving to Madera where she graduated from Madera Union High School with the Class of 1948.
In earlier years before retirement Sue was a cashier at Hal’s Market and at Madera Food Mart, and for a time worked at Howell’s Studio where she was a colorizer. An active person in the Madera Community Sue enjoyed being a volunteer at Madera Community Hospital.
She was an avid bowler and golfer at Madera Golf and Country Club and was a member of the Madera Emblem Club of the Madera Elks Lodge. Sue was married to Donald Udell Bare, Sr. for 65 years before his passing in 2014.
In addition to Don her husband, Sue was preceded in death by a daughter Cynthia Lynn Bare.
Sue is survived by her son, Donald Bare, Jr. and his wife Belva of Madera, by her sister Wilma Bowles of South Carolina and by her grandchildren, Jason Bare and his wife Rebecca of Fresno, Kevin Bare of Madera, and by her great-granddaughter, Hannah Sue Bare of Fresno, also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service for Sue will be on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at 10 AM at Arbor Vitae Cemetery In Madera
