Philip Michael Molina (42)

Philip Michael Molina (42) lovingly known as “Mike” passed away July 15, 2020 in Madera of a brief illness. He was born in Colusa, CA and at a young age moved with his family to Madera. Mike attended local schools and was a graduate of Madera High Class of 1996.

In 1997 Mike married the love of his life Kelly Chambers. Mike and Kelly have been working together, as they own and operate Perko’s Café on Cleveland Avenue in Madera, for many years. But their greatest achievement has been in raising their five boys to be great men.

Mike's happy place was any baseball field where he could coach the young men of Madera. He has donated his time and talents for many years Coaching and Managing Soccer, Basketball and Little League Baseball. He was currently managing the South County Colts Travel Baseball team. He and Kelly have served for several years on the board of the Madera American Little League. 

Mike is survived by his wife of 23 years Kelly of Madera, his father Felipe and his wife Yolanda of Madera. His mother Laurie Laird of Sonora, CA., 5 Sons: Anthony Molina of Crescent City, CA, Christopher Molina and Raidena Velarde , Tommy Molina, Benji Molina and Sammy Molina, all of Madera. His Brother Marc Molina and Yvette of Madera and a Sister, Traci Molina and Matt Abshire of Madera. And Grandson Nicholas of Madera.

A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for any memorials that may be made to the American Little league of Madera (Click Here).
