William Ray Jantzen (89)

In Madera,  William Ray Jantzen (89) passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2023. Bill was born to William Henry and Anna Weins Jantzen in 1933. He was a long-time educator in Madera, teaching in the Madera High School until his retirement.

Bill was educated n Madera attending Dixieland Elementary School and graduating from Madera Union High School before serving two years in the United States Army. He received his bachelor's degree and teaching credential from Fresno State College in 1958. He also attended Cal Poly but earned his Masters's Degree in Agriculture Education from U.C. Davis in 1962.

He began his teaching career at Mantecca Union High School in 1959. But, he returned to Madera to begin a thirty-three-year career at Madera High School in 1962 as a vocational ag teacher, then as a school counselor. Bill retired in 1994.

Bill was a member of the Madera Avenue Bible Church.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Norma Jantzen.

He is survived by his sons Greg Jantzen and his wife Jane of Dinuba, Chris Jantzen and his wife Traci of Texas, and his daughter Tracy Jantzen of Madera. Bill also leaves behind five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Madera Avenue Bible Church at 10:30 A.M. at the Madera Avenue Bible Church at 124 Walnut Street in Madera, CA.

Remembrances may be made in Bill’s name to Madera Avenue Bible Church, 124 Walnut Street, Madera, CA 93637.
