Madera - Local attorney Denslow Brooks Green, born February 4, 1922, passed away peacefully May 15, 2011. He was a lifelong resident of Madera and graduate of Madera High. After graduating Stanford University and Stanford Law, he joined his father, Sherwood Green, in practice of law. He was married to Helen Jean Hosler. Denny was a Captain in the US Army in WWII, where he was awarded the Bronze Star and Air Medal.
Denslow was known as one of the foremost water law attorneys in California and represented many water districts in the state. He tried a case before the U.S. Supreme Court and several cases before the California State Supreme Court. Denslow was active in the community. His many interests included hunting, fishing, skiing, tennis, and duplicate bridge. He was a connoisseur of fine wines. He and Helen enjoyed their many friends and the travels they shared.
Denslow and Helen had three children: Denise, Scott, & Lauren He was predeceased by his son Scott in 1998 and his wife Helen in 2003.
He is survived by his children Denise Green, Lauren & Wayne McCullough, Daughter-in-law Judy & husband Jeffrey Hecht, grand children Joe McCullough & wife Michelle; Mark McCullough & wife Natasha; Megan Imperatrice & husband Chris; Toben Green & wife Gayle Young; and Sarah Green; great grand children Wyatt & Logan McCullough; Taylor & Cole McCullough; Addyson & Carter Imperatrice; and many friends and relatives.
