Leoba "Leo" Salazar (81), a native of George Town, TX and a resident of Madera, CA for 61 years passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at a Madera hospital. He was a retired Maintenance Man working for Madera Unified School District for 36 years.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Salazar and Theodora Sanchez-Salazar. Two daughters, Cynthia "Cindy" Salazar and Sylvia "Ya Ya" Salazar. 4 brothers, Efrain, Eliazar, Santiago Salazar and Robert Salazar, Jr. and 1 sister, Ruth Salazar-Garcia.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruth Salazar of Madera, CA. 4 sons, Leoba Jr., Steven and Michael Salazar all of Washington and Anthony Salazar of Madera, CA. 2 daughters, Jeanne "DeeDee" Barron of Washington and Lindamarie Salazar of Madera, CA. 3 brothers, Philip Salazar of Santa Ana, CA and Noe & Jesse Salazar both of Washington. 1 sister, Amy Gutierrez of Washington. 22 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. with Funeral Services beginning at 1:00 P.M. at Jay Chapel in Madera. Interment will be at Arbor Vitae Cemetery in Madera.
