Marc Erwin Garner II (36) was unexpectedly called home to his Lord following a traffic accident in Fresno on August 1, 2017. He came into this world on September 24, 1980 in San Diego. He graduated from Chowchilla Union High School in 1998 where he met his best friend of 22 years and future wife Christina Soltau.
The two were married in 2005 and began a family with the birth of their two daughters, Abbigail and Allison. Their family would continue to grow when they received guardianship of their two nieces and nephew. Marc took a particular joy in spending time with all his children.
Marc worked for Trademark General Contractor in Fresno but his passion was the community youth whom he coached in soccer and softball. He enjoyed Chowchilla Redskin Football and rarely missed a game despite not having a child attending or playing at the high school. There are very few people in Chowchilla that did not know Marc thru his coaching.
Marc is survived by his wife of twelve years Christina Garner, his two daughters Abbigail and Allison, his three nieces Marlee Groomes, Maudry Goomes and Makayla Enos, his nephew Roy Goomes. brother John Johnson, sister Marcia Garner. He was also survived by his paternal aunt and uncle Dean and Betty Cooper.
A celebration of life will be held in Chowchilla on August 19th at the Sociedade Flor Açoriana "Portuguese" Hall on 800 South Third Street near the Madera County Fairgrounds from 5pm to 7pm. Following the celebration of life, guests are invited to stick around and share their memories of Marc with family and friends.
Donations to the family can be dropped off at the Dance Depo Studio 133 N 3rd St, Chowchilla, CA 93610. Deposit slips for an account set up for the family at Tri-County Bank will be available at the studio and the celebration of life.
