FAIRFAX, Calif. - The Fresno State men's golf team concluded the final round of the Alister MacKenzie Invitational, hosted by Cal, at Meadow Club on Tuesday. The 'Dogs finished the tournament in 13th place with a score of 10-over-par 862 (290-280-292) to end the tournament.
Redshirt Senior Cody Riecks led Fresno State in the tournament, carding an even-par 71 in the final round. The Auburn, Calif., native finished the tournament tied for 41st place with an overall score of 1-over-par 214.
Fellow senior Alex Lee was just behind Riecks on the scorecard, posting a 4-over-par 75 in the final round. The Sacramento, Calif., native carded a 3-over-par 216 at the conclusion of the tournament.
Freshman Tommy Stephenson followed a stroke behind Lee in his second collegiate tournament, firing a 4-over-par 217 over the course of the tournament. The Carlsbad, Calif., native shot a 4-over-par 75 in the final round.
Freshman Tyler Gardner was the next underclassmen on the Bulldog scorecard, posting an even-par 71 in the final round. The hometown Fresno, Calif., native finished the tournament at 6-over-par 219 overall.
Sophomore Michael Cliff was the final 'Dog on the scorecard, shooting a 5-over-par 76 in the final round. The fellow hometown Fresno, Calif., native concluded his tournament play at 10-over-par 223.
Fresno State had two golfers shoot an even par on Tuesday, finishing the final round with a score of 8-over-par 292 overall.
The Bulldogs will have a short break before their next action as they will travel to Spanos Park in Stockton, Calif., to compete in the Pacific Invitational, hosted by Pacific, on Thursday, Oct. 25, through Saturday, Oct. 27. Further information regarding tournament format, times and admission will be provided on a later date.
