FRESNO - Fresno FC head coach Adam Smith announced Monday that the Foxes will hold an open tryout to seek new talent for the 2019 USL Championship season. "We're thrilled to continue building a strong foundation for professional soccer in the Central Valley and hope to find some talented individuals who will help the Foxes in our quest for a USL Cup Championship," said coach Smith. "From last year's tryouts we were able to find impactful players in Alex Cooper, Renato Bustamante, and Ramon Martin Del Campo, and hope we can see similar results in December."
The tryouts will be held the weekend of December 8th and 9th at Fresno City College. The tryout is open to male players ages 18 and over, who have at least one year of professional playing experience or experience at the PDL or NCAA Division I levels.
Fresno FC technical staff will observe each session, inviting select players to additional tryouts and training, with the ultimate goal of signing athletes for the 2019 season.
Players will be evaluated through a series of fitness tests, skill drills, and small-sided games and scrimmages. The cost for the two-day tryout is $150 per participant and includes a training shirt and lunch for the two days. Registration is limited to 60 participants, who will be hand-selected by the coaching staff and invited to the tryout. Those not invited to the tryout will automatically be refunded their registration fee.
