WACO, Texas - The National Collegiate Equestrian Association announced its preseason rankings ahead of the 2019-20 season on Wednesday afternoon. The Bulldogs checked in at No. 9 in the preseason rankings, holding steady since their last appearance in the team rankings on Mar. 12, 2019.
Auburn secured the No. 1 spot after a historic undefeated season and national championship crown. SEC teams Texas A&M and Georgia came in at No. 2 and 3, respectively.
Oklahoma State leads the way for the Big 12 at No. 4 while the 2019 United Equestrian Conference* champion SMU checks in at No. 5.
Baylor comes in ranked at No. 6 in the preseason rankings and South Carolina is No. 7.
TCU, Fresno State and UT-Martin round out the Top 10 in the NCEA Preseason Rankings.
The Bulldogs will compete in the Big 12 this year after joining the conference in May 2019. With a record-breaking home meet schedule, Fresno State faces all nine of the remaining top 10 teams this season. The Bulldogs host No. 1 Auburn, No. 2 Texas A&M, No. 3 Georgia, No. 4 Oklahoma State, No. 5 SMU, No. 6 Baylor, No. 8 TCU and No. 10 UT-Martin at the Student Horse Center this season.
