Bulldog Baseball Stumbles to Harvard

FRESNO  -   The Bulldogs returned home on Tuesday evening falling 8-2 to Harvard at Pete Beiden Field at Bob Bennett Stadium. Fresno State (7-10) was held to six hits in its first-ever contest against Harvard (7-5).Two days after hitting his first career home run, Tommy Hopfe had a two-hit performance and drove in one of the 'Dogs two runs on the night.

Zach Morgan extended his hitting streak to 11 games smacking one of the Bulldogs' two doubles and scored a run while Ivan Luna added a double and scored the 'Dogs other run. On the mound, Will Springer made his first start of the season lasting three innings before giving way to Alex Kendrick, followed by three perfect innings from Robbie Peters and one inning apiece from Kyle Pruhsmeier and Matt Ottino.


Bulldogs Fall on the Road in Extra Innings to Lobos

Photo by Khon Saysa - GoBulldogs.comALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Despite overcoming a five-run deficit, the Diamond 'Dogs suffered a heartbreaking 9-8 loss in 11 innings to New Mexico on Sunday in the series finale at Santa Ana Star Field. A walk-off single by New Mexico shortstop Chase Weissenborn with two outs in the bottom of the 11th drove in the game-winning run for the Lobos.

The 'Dogs had taken a 8-7 lead in the top of the 11th on a solo home run by Tommy Hopfe, his first career home run, but the Lobos came back with a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame in the Bulldogs' first extra-inning contest of the season.

Short finish for Equestrian 'Dogs in Davis

DAVIS - The No. 8 Fresno State equestrian team dropped its regular season finale 11-9 at UC Davis on Saturday. The Bulldogs finish the year with a 6-8 overall regular season record, and look towards Big 12 championships and the NCEA national championships in the coming weeks.

The Bulldogs outscored the Aggies 6-4 in the western events, but fell short in the jumping seat. Emily Maul was named horsemanship Most Outstanding Performer in the meet.

Bulldog QB Jake Haener Named MW Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Fresno State senior quarterback Jake Haener was named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week after his gritty performance that led Fresno State to its 40-37 win at then-No. 13 UCLA on Saturday night.

This is Haener's first weekly honor by the conference. He is the first offensive recognition since Jalen Cropper (Nov. 16, 2020). He is the first Bulldog quarterback to earn the award since Marcus McMaryion (Oct. 1, 2018).

Bulldogs Earn 40-37 Win Against No. 13 UCLA at Rose Bowl

PASADENA  - The Fresno State football team had yet another impressive performance on Saturday, defeating the 13th-ranked UCLA Bruins 40-37 at the Rose Bowl to improve to 3-1 on the season. The Bulldogs won their fourth-straight meeting with UCLA, dating back to 2003.

Senior quarterback Jake Haener did just what he was expected to do on Saturday night. Throwing for a season-high 455 yards, Haener showed true toughness and grit to lead the Bulldogs to their last-minute scoring drive to secure the victory.

'Dogs Blank Huskies in 2021 Opener - Rivers Sets Career Touchdown Record

FRESNO -  The Fresno State football team opened the 2021 season with a dominant 45-0 win over UConn, the first shutout for the Bulldogs since 2017, as senior running back Ronnie Rivers rewrote the record books becoming the program's leader in career touchdowns scored.

Following a slow start for both sides, Arron Mosby woke everyone up, stripping Jack Zergiotis and picking up the fumble before racing 31 yards into the end zone late in the first quarter. Fresno State doubled its lead less than three minutes into the second quarter. After a 17-yard completion to Jordan Mims got the 'Dogs down to the nine-yard line, Haener tossed his first touchdown of the season to the corner of the end zone to Ty Jones to put the 'Dogs up 14-0 with 12:30 on the clock.
