Fresno Sheriff's Ag Task Force Investigating Series of Goat Thefts

FRESNO COUNTY - Detectives assigned to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Ag Task Force are investigating a series of goat thefts. From January 9, 2019 – March 7, 2019, there have been seven different reports of goats being stolen. A total of 61 goats, totaling $27,000 in loss, have gone missing from different private properties in the area between Easton and Riverdale. Ag Task Force detectives are also working with investigators in Kings and Tulare counties to try and generate leads in these cases.

One of the most notable cases of this series occurred during the night of Thursday, March 7th. Members of the Kingsburg 4-H club had 11 of their goats stolen from a pasture located on the 4200 block of S. Fruit Avenue in Fresno. The following weekend, the owners were able to safely recover four of their goats, which were found roaming on a roadway in Selma between Highways 41 and 43. The owners are offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the safe return of their remaining seven goats.


Tulare County Sheriff's Top Ten Fugitive CAPTURED SAME DAY He's Added to the List!

TULARE - On Wednesday, Detectives with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office added Raymond Hernandez Jr. to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department "Top 10 Most Wanted" list. Hernandez had an outstanding felony warrant for an attempted homicide stabbing while he was in custody in Tulare County.

County Apprehension Team Tracking Criminals (CATTCH) Detectives quickly learned where Hernandez might be and began surveillance at an apartment complex in the City of Visalia. During the surveillance, Detectives saw Hernandez leave an apartment and detained him without incident, just a few hours after he was added to the Top Ten List.

Misdemeanor Cruelty to a Child Charges Filed Against Local California Assemblyman

FRESNO – California Assemblyman Joaquin Arambula (41, of Fresno) has been charged Tuesday in a misdemeanor complaint with the crime of cruelty to a child, the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office has announced.

 The Complaint, filed in the Fresno County Superior Court Tuesday morning, alleges a sole misdemeanor count of Cruelty to a Child by Inflicting Unjustifiable Physical Pain or Mental Suffering under Penal Code section 273a(b).  If convicted of the charge, Mr. Arambula faces a sentence of up to six (6) months imprisonment.

California State Prison-Corcoran Investigating Inmate Death as a Homicide

CORCORAN – California State Prison-Corcoran (CSP-COR) officials are investigating the death of an inmate as a homicide. On Saturday, March 9, staff were conducting security checks in a housing unit at 7:30 a.m. They found inmate Luis Romero deceased in his cell. His cause of death is under investigation.

Officials have identified Romero’s cellmate, Jaime Osuna, as a suspect. Osuna has been placed in the long-term restricted housing unit. CSP-COR’s Investigative Services Unit has launched an investigation into the incident, along with the Kings County Sheriff’s Department. The Kings County District Attorney’s Office and the Office of the Inspector General have been notified.

Fresno County Deputies Capture Evasive Wanted Parolee

FRESNO - The Fresno County Sheriff’s SWAT team took 25 year old Joshua Servis of Fresno into custody Thursday afternoon. He has been booked into the Fresno County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon, evading police and a parole violation.

Just after 9:30 pm on March 5th, deputies spotted Joshua Servis in a vehicle as it was pulling into a gas station at the corner of Olive and Marks Avenues in Fresno. As deputies attempted to stop him, Servis intentionally swerved his car into a patrol vehicle, causing minor damage. Servis headed east on Olive Ave. to try and get away.

Former El Dorado County Gymnastics Coach Charged with Attempting to Produce Child Pornography

SACRAMENTO -  A federal grand jury returned a one-count indictment today against Keith Willette, 56, of Cameron Park, charging him with attempted production of child pornography, Assistant Attorney General Brian A. Benczkowski of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division and U.S. Attorney McGregor W. Scott announced. According to court documents, between May 2000 and April 2002, Willette attempted to produce child pornography of a juvenile victim.

This case is the product of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Rosanne L. Rust and Trial Attorney Jessica Urban with the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section of the Department of Justice, Criminal Division, are prosecuting the case.

Five Tulare Residents Charged in Superseding Indictment with Possessing and Selling False Identification Documents

FRESNO -  A federal grand jury returned a 10-count superseding indictment today for a case involving the production and sale of false Social Security cards and green cards first charged in August 2018, U.S. Attorney McGregor W. Scott announced.

Today’s superseding indictment adds three counts and a fifth defendant. Tulare residents Elfego Alcala, 46; Aida Corona, 37; Tamilene Cisneros, 48; Lupita Cisneros; and the fifth defendant, Maria Elena Soriano-Salinas, 57, are charged with conspiring to produce false identification documents, the production and sale of false identification documents, and fraud and misuse of visas and related documents.
