A Win for Los Angeles: United Airlines Comes to the Coliseum

LOS ANGELES -  United Airlines and the University of Southern California have announced a naming rights agreement to help sustain and renovate the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, one of the sports world's most beloved historical landmarks and home of the USC Trojans. Under the 16-year agreement, the venue will officially become the United Airlines Memorial Coliseum beginning in August 2019.

The agreement will support a $270 million project to restore and preserve the Coliseum and upgrade its facilities for fans, athletes and the community, generating thousands of jobs. The renovation will honor the stadium's rich architectural history and preserve its status as a registered historic landmark, while adding modern amenities that will improve the visitor experience.


Monsters Return to Selland Arena

FRESNO -  It is and has been the goal of the Fresno Monsters to return ice hockey to Selland Arena in downtown Fresno. Cooperation with the current Fresno City Administration and Council has provided us the opportunity to now make that goal into a reality.

The Fresno Monsters are proud to announce that we will be playing our last three home games of the regular season at Selland Arena, Thursday February 15th, Friday February 16th, and Saturday February 17th against the Long Beach Bombers. The puck will drop on all three dates at 7:30pm.

Bulldogs Looking Ahead to the 2018 Schedule - Season Tickets Are On Sale Now Starting as Low as $99

FRESNO - What do we know about 2018 Fresno State football schedule? We know that Fresno State will open its 2018 campaign with four nonconference FBS games over the first five weeks, starting at Bulldog Stadium on Sept. 1. And its Mountain West schedule will mirror 2017, but with the host-site flipped for all eight opponents. Five of the Bulldogs' 2018 opponents qualified for a bowl game and the 12 collectively went 71-81 (.467).
 
September 1 vs. Idaho (Big Sky)
Fresno State will open its season at home for the second consecutive year. In 2018, the Bulldogs will start the season against Idaho, a team that went 4-8 (3-5 Sun Belt) in 2017 during its final year as an FBS team - they will kick off 2018 as a member of the Big Sky Conference. Fresno State owns an 11-4 all-time series advantage against the Vandals; they last played in 2013, which was a 61-14 victory for the Bulldogs at the Kibbie Dome. The Bulldogs will seek their 11th-straight win against Idaho on Sept. 1.

Astros World Series Champion Chris Devenski Added to Fresno Grizzlies Hot Stove Lineup

FRESNO - Additional talent has been announced for the annual Fresno Grizzlies Hot Stove Gala and dinner, the 57th anniversary event, slated for Thursday, February 1, 2017 at the Fresno Convention Center.  (Exhibit Hall III at 700 “M” Street downtown.)  

Major League veteran player and manager Dusty Baker, the keynote speaker, will be joined by Chris Devenski, a former Fresno Grizzlies right-handed pitcher and 2017 World Series Champion with the Houston Astros.   The event will begin at 6 p.m. for the general public (doors at 5:30), and at 5 p.m. for those who have purchased VIP tickets.  VIP access includes a private mixer with the talent prior to the dinner and speeches.

Bulldog Softball Opens Practice Ahead of 2018 Season

FRESNO - The Fresno State softball team officially opened practice on Tuesday, one month before its season opener. The 'Dogs will have practice or other team activities six days a week leading up to facing Oregon to open the Kajikawa Classic on Feb. 9 in Tempe, Ariz. "Preseason is always challenging," head coach Linda Garza said. "We have a strong schedule that will challenge our returners and newcomers early. It's a great opportunity to figure out things and prepare everyone for conference play."

In the month of preseason training the 'Dogs will work their way back into game form following the holiday break.
